Kyle Walker-Peters has a bit of work to do if he’s going to secure a permanent move away from Tottenham Hotspur it seems.

The 23-year-old joined Southampton on a half-season loan from Spurs in January.

But it hasn’t been a brilliant loan spell in the South Coast as of yet, with the Tottenham academy player managing only 73 minutes of Premier League football, spread across two matches.

The Saints have the option to keep him at St Mary’s on a long-term basis, but their manager Ralph Hassenhuttl has revealed to The Daily Echo that he hasn’t decided on that front yet.

Hassenhuttl, whose side have eight more Premier League games this season, said: “I’ve not decided yet.

“He will stay with us to the end of the season with us and we have now 8 games in the short term so it’s quite likely he can start one game or two games or whatever.”

It’ll be bitterly disappointing for the player if he can’t get a permanent move because, if we’re honest, he has no future at Tottenham.

Walker-Peters has had a few stand-out performances here and there, including against Barcelona in the Champions League.

But he turned 23 in April and if he was going to ever be a big player in North London, we’d know by now.
