Martin Zubimendi has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but his Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil has said that the midfielder wants to stay at the Spanish club.

Earlier this month, AS reported that Arsenal want to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window.

The report in the Spanish publication claimed that the midfielder has decided to move to Arsenal despite having interest from Barcelona, who have just won the La Liga title.

The 24-year-old Spain international midfielder reportedly has a release clause of £52 million in his contract at Sociedad.

Alguacil believes that Zubimendi will stay at Sociedad despite interest from Arsenal and Barcelona, as you can see below.

Arsenal could be able to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad

In our view, Arsenal could be able to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window.

Yes, Sociedad could end up playing in the UEFA Champions League next season, but Arsenal are a massive club and a global brand who have finished second in the Premier League table this campaign.

And the Gunners will certainly play in the UEFA Champions League next season and will also aim to win the Premier League title in the coming years.

If Arsenal decide to pay Zubimendi’s release clause, then we do not think that the Spain international will turn down the chance to move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
