Rangers secured the bragging rights in Glasgow by beating Celtic on Sunday.
Steven Gerrard’s side secured a 1-0 over their Old Firm rivals at Ibrox to move three points clear of the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership table.
Filip Helander’s goal on 66 minutes was enough for Rangers to down a Celtic side that could – and should – have been leading the game at that point, having missed some golden chances.
It was a corner from Borna Barisic which was headed home by the big Swedish defender.
Just before that, the Rangers left-back tried to ramp up the atmosphere from the home support inside Ibrox – and evidently it worked.
Here’s how some light Blues fans reacted to Barisic’s gesture just before the set piece.
Thing of the past?
These wonderful set-piece deliveries from Barisic might be a thing of the past very soon, amid speculation that the Rangers defender is leaving for Italian outfit Roma.
Fans of the Premiership champions have already taken to Twitter to express their disappointment over that prospect, with Barisic playing a huge role in helping Gerrard’s troops end Celtic’s 10-in-a-row bid last season.
In all competitions, the 28-year-old scored five goals and set up another 14, which are unbelievable figures for a left-back and it just goes to show what the Gers will be missing this season and beyond, if he does leave soon.
Barisic was signed for £2.2 million from Osijek in 2018, after facing Rangers in a Europa League qualifier.
