Liverpool fans are delighted as Fabinho has returned to training ahead of their clash with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
Big relief
Fabinho has missed Liverpool’s last two matches with a fitness problem.
However, it seems that the Brazilian defensive midfielder, who is on a £180,000-a-week deal (SI), could well be coming back into contention for midweek now.
He was snapped at the AXA Training Centre yesterday, as he partook in the full session with his teammates.
The image has excited plenty of Liverpool supporters, with the Reds fans delighted after the tweet last night.
Straight back in?
Liverpool certainly missed Fabinho’s stabilising influence at the weekend, as they threw away a 2-0 lead to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Fabinho’s importance to the side also was highlighted in their first clash with Atleti.
The Reds raced into a 2-0 lead on that occasion, but with Naby Keita starting in midfield they looked open and vulnerable and Diego Simeone’s men managed to pull the score back to 2-2.
Liverpool then brought on Fabinho at half-time and went on the score the winner, as they claimed an important three points.
The Reds are now on the verge of the knockout stages and a win tomorrow evening would effectively secure their qualification to the next round.
