Ryan Kent appeared to struggle again for Rangers on Tuesday night.
The 24-year-old is one of the Gers’ most important players but he failed to have an impact last night as Steven Gerrard’s side were dumped out of the Champions League by Malmo.
Charlie Adam revealed that he feels as if the Rangers winger’s head may be elsewhere, following speculation about a move to Leeds United a few months ago.
And former light Blues star Richard Foster said one moment epitomised the English star’s night, when he passed the ball for Connor Goldson – a 6’3 centre-back – to cross into the box.
He told BBC Sportsound about Kent: “You talk about decision-making. I’ve just seen Ryan Kent pass the ball to Connor Goldson to cross the ball into the box. Ryan Kent has set up the goal, he’s much better at crossing the ball with all due respect.”
Form
Rangers won the Premiership by 25 points from Celtic last season.
A lot of mental energy was required to achieve that feat and it’s possible that a hangover, among the players, is taking place now.
Remember, Gerrard’s side also lost their 40-match unbeaten league streak this past weekend, with Kent also struggling at Tannadice on that occasion.
The former Liverpool winger is a class act, but he’s in a bad moment right now and the sooner he gets out of this funk, the sooner Rangers can get back to their best.
