Darren Bent has stated that Liverpool is the ‘perfect landing spot’ for Jude Bellingham, as he told talkSPORT.

The 18-year-old is one of the highly-rated prospects in world football and Bent thinks the Liverpool target could become ‘the best’ in years to come.

Bellingham is currently plying his trade in Germany for Borussia Dortmund where he is earning rave reviews despite his young age.

It isn’t a surprise that some of Europe’s elite clubs are looking to pounce on his talents, with suggestions that Liverpool are top of the list.

Former Premier League striker Bent was asked about Bellingham and the potential he has at his boots.

“He’s got the potential to be one of the very best, if not the best,” said Bent. “But to say he’s one of the best right now.

“I heard about this kid from a long, long time ago. As long as he keeps developing. He is developing at an alarming rate as well. He’s only 18. You think of him by the time he’s 21?

“I have heard about Liverpool, it would be a perfect landing spot for him. Liverpool would be great.”

It has been over a year since Dortmund paid £25 million (Sky Sports) for Bellingham’s talents, despite the midfielder only being 17 at the time.

As a result of that transfer, Bellingham become the world’s most expensive 17-year-old and there wasn’t even a worry that it wouldn’t work out.

The box-to-box midfielder has gone from strength to strength since moving to Germany and becoming an England international along the way.

Just like Jadon Sancho, it’s pretty obvious that Dortmund will use the big-pockets of the English Premier League to make a very sizable profit on the player.

But whatever happens, someone will have a player that can dominate world football for possibly two decades.
