Manchester United signing Antony is looking increasingly possible, despite speculation about Liverpool also being interested.

Earlier in July, journalist Jorge Nicola reported that Liverpool were in talks to sign the £51 million-rated Ajax winger.

However, Manchester United certainly seem a more realistic destination, based on speculation over the past couple of weeks.

And according to journalist Dean Jones, the Red Devils are starting talks with the Brazilian attacker.

Jones has told Give Me Sport: “I’ve heard that conversations are starting to happen again. I’d say there’s nothing super new to report on it. But it’s definitely one that they’ve still got on their radar.”

Could Liverpool sign him?

Well, it wouldn’t be a massive shock.

After all, Jurgen Klopp has lost two wide players this summer in the form of Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino.

And although Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez, they haven’t signed an out-and-out winger, which Antony is.

That being said, there isn’t a lot of speculation about the Reds signing anyone at the moment and it’s entirely possible that Klopp and FSG have shut up shop for the summer, in regards to additions.

Then again, a surprise signing is never a million miles away and although there isn’t much rumours about Antony – or anyone – it’s one that can’t be ruled out, particularly if they were genuinely in talks only two weeks ago.
