Last night, Real Madrid booked their meeting with Liverpool in the Champions League final following a dramatic win over Manchester City.
It seemed for all the world that Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp would be facing off once again in Paris on May 28th, as the Citizens led by two goals going into stoppage time.
However, two goals in two minutes from Rodrygo, followed by a Karim Benzema penalty, knocked Manchester City out in astonishing fashion.
Before the game, Mohamed Salah admitted he wanted to face Real Madrid, and after the Egyptian got his wish, he did something that ex-Red Didi Hamann does not approve of.
What’s the story?
Well, Salah took to Twitter in defiant fashion after Real Madrid’s 6-5 win over Manchester City, writing: “We have a score to settle.”
It’s safe to say the tweet went down well, as it has achieved over 340,000 likes and 44,000 retweets
However, Hamann told Sky Sports this morning that he is “no big fan of it”.
The 48-year-old said: “I saw the tweet and I’m no big fan of it, I’ve got to say. I always prefer when players keep it quiet and they can talk after the game.”

Now, we understand where the German is coming from, although we have to say we disagree strongly.
Liverpool should love Mohamed Salah tweet
In our view, everybody associated with Liverpool should love what Salah wrote on Twitter.
Of course, if Liverpool lose to Real Madrid, it will be posted everywhere and used as a stick to beat the 29-year-old with.
However, footballers are becoming more and more robotic, so it was refreshing to see Salah break away from the usual media-trained drivel and say it how it is.
Clearly, the £34m has unfinished business with Real Madrid.

As you will know, the Liverpool No.11’s first ever Champions League final was ruined by Real Madrid in 2018, as Sergio Ramos dislocated the Egyptian’s shoulder and went on to help his side win 3-1 in Kyiv.
It also meant Salah wasn’t 100% fit in his first – and potentially last – taste of the World Cup with Egypt.
Hopefully, the Liverpool talisman can get his revenge.
