Well, Celtic and Rangers are set to renew hostilities in an Old Firm bash this afternoon.
Ibrox plays host as Rangers look to keep their double bid on course by beating Celtic to move into the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup.
There can be no doubt that Steven Gerrard’s side are big favourites to do a number on the Hoops, who are 20 points behind the newly-crowned Premiership champions in the league.
A combined XI would be dominated by blue shirts, such is the difference in how both teams have played throughout the 2020-21 campaign.
But Charlie Adam claims that Celtic one player – and only one player – would get into Gerrard’s XI: Kristoffer Ajer.
The big Norway international, a £750,000 signing by the Bhoys in 2016, has easily been Celtic’s best and most consistent performer during an otherwise shocking campaign.
Adam told PLZ Soccer, after earlier claiming no Celtic player would make Rangers’ best XI: “Aye I’d have Ajer. I’ve got to say, I think Ajer’s very good.”
Ajer has definitely been the Parkhead club’s best player this season and some fans on the green half of the Old Firm divide will be worried about keeping him.
It’s going to be a summer of transition at Celtic in the board room, dugout and on the field and honestly, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the towering centre-back were among the high-profile figures to leave Glasgow.
