David Luiz reacts to Ljungberg’s Instagram message

David Luiz has reacted on Instagram to Freddie Ljungberg stating that he has ‘decided to leave’ Arsenal.

Ljungberg was the first-team assistant coach at Arsenal, and after Unai Emery’s sacking in December, he took the main job on a temporary basis before Mikel Arteta stepped in.

Whilst Ljungberg saw Arsenal suffer some pretty low moments during the recently-concluded campaign, it ended on a high with the club lifting the FA Cup.

Luiz’s message on Ljungberg’s Instagram read: ‘We will miss you, boss! God bless you. Always together’.

Joe Willock, who would have worked with the Swede in the academy as well as the first-team, wrote: ‘Thanks Freddie, going to miss you’.

It remains to be seen what one of Arsenal’s invincibles will do next and whether he will be locking horns against his former club in the near future.

Prior to Arteta taking the job at the Emirates, there were questions as to whether Ljungberg should be given the main post.

But, at the time, the confidence and morale at the club was at an all-time low and everyone needed lifting.

Not many would have expected the finish to the season, especially the defensive displays the Arsenal players produced.
