Tomáš Souček has sounded a note of defiance after the decision send him off against Fulham was overturned on appeal.

The 25-year-old West Ham midfielder was given a red card seven minutes into injury time at the end of a 0-0 draw.

It was a decision that sparked outcry, with referee Mike Dean arriving at it after reviewing footage of his coming together with Aleksandar Mitrović on the pitchside monitor at Craven Cottage.

The Hammers confirmed on Sunday that they had submitted notice to the FA to appeal the red card.

That appeal was reviewed by an independent regulatory commission at the FA on Monday morning, which resulted in the Czech international’s suspension being rescinded and lifted.

It’s a decision that was welcomed by Souček, who posted a tweet highlighting his disciplinary record.

He said: “I am glad my red card against Fulham has been overturned. I’ve checked it, I’ve gone over 200 games without a single red card. My entire career.

“I am looking forward to helping the team in the important games this week! Thanks for your support! #westham #whu #COYI.”

Sunday’s draw leaves David Moyes’ side in sixth place.
