Harvey Elliott has claimed that he has been getting ‘a few tips’ off his Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota, as he told ITV Sport.
On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool progressed through to the fifth round of the FA Cup after they beat Championship side Cardiff City 3-1.
Jota opened the scoring for his side with another typical header, whilst Elliott marked his return from injury with a Mo Salah-esque finish.
Whilst new signing Luis Diaz was also introduced to the crowd for the first time and impressed on debut, it was pretty clear that Elliott stole the headlines.
But, during his time away, the 18-year-old lauded what Jota has been producing and how he has been watching him from afar.
“It wasn’t too bad (on his goal),” said Elliott. “I have been watching my man next to me, Diego, he has been banging them in left, right and centre for us.
“So, I have been getting a few tips off him. But it’s nice to score and I was hopeful to be able to do it.”

If Elliott can take a leaf out of Jota’s goalscoring book, then he is going to go places in his career.
Since joining Liverpool last season, Jota has showcased this lethal nature inside the penalty area that not many Premier League players can match.
Elliott still has a long way to go in his career, but he proved against Cardiff that he has the technique and confidence to add to his goalscoring numbers.
Now it’s just a case of continuing to add minutes to his legs because a crucial second half of the campaign awaits Jurgen Klopp and his players.
