Arsenal fans are amongst the best detectives on the planet when it comes to checking on their transfer targets, and this week, they’ve been at it again.

Indeed, while Gunners fans have been known to track flights and overly-analyse Instagram posts in the past, this time, they’ve been focused on a property listing in Loughborough.

Arsenal supporters spotted a clue that the five-bedroom house being sold belongs to Youri Tielemans due to an image of a fridge on the virtual tour – don’t ask us how they figured this one out, and, inevitably, the rumour mill went into overdrive after this sleuth work from the Gunners’ fanbase.

Speaking on The Done Deal Show, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs shared what he knows about Tielemans’ current situation, and he’s led to believe that he is indeed selling his house.

However, unfortunately for Arsenal fans, Jacobs has been told that there isn’t much to read into that at this stage, stating that there may be another reason why he is moving.

What’s been said?

Jacobs spoke about

“Now, Arsenal fans got excited yesterday, and I must say as someone with 20 years in journalism, I can’t believe I spent an hour looking at photos and messages about Youri Tielemans’ fridge as a fan zoomed in on his fridge and worked out that his house was being sold,” Jacobs said.

“Unfortunately I been told that there isn’t much to read into that at this stage, which makes a lot of sense because it would be a bold move to sell your house if you didn’t have a club to go to and at the moment Tielemans doesn’t have a club to go to.”

“Footballers move, he has a family, there are so many reasons why he may be off to a new house, that doesn’t mean he’s off to a new club at this stage.”

Nothing to it

Jacobs says that there is nothing to read into Tielemans selling his house, and perhaps this is a sign that football fans need to calm down a little bit.

Yes, we all love to get wrapped up in the excitement of a transfer window, but when you’re zooming in on fridges in a house in Loughborough, perhaps it’s time to take a bit of a step back.

There’s nothing wrong with trying to read into rumours, but on this occasion, Arsenal fans seem to have gotten themselves worked up for nothing.

Of course, Tielemans may still join Arsenal this summer, but that seemingly isn’t why he’s selling his property.
