Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast Graeme Bailey has claimed that Jorginho could be on the move back to Italy at the end of the season.
Indeed, Bailey says that he’s been told by a source that it wouldn’t be surprising if the midfielder headed back to Italy at the end of the season if he wins the league with Arsenal.
This statement comes as a bit of a shock, as the Italian midfielder has only just signed for the Gunners.
Jorginho was the Gunners’ only deadline day signing, and he is quite an exciting addition to this side.
He has a wealth of experience in the Premier League and has shown his ability to control the tempo of a game, making him a valuable addition to any team. However, at the age of 31, it is understandable why Bailey suggests that Jorginho may not be seen as a long-term solution for Arsenal.

Jorginho could leave
Bailey shared what he knows about Jorginho.
“He’s an upgrade. Bringing him in now, one player doesn’t make a team, but this one player could have such an impact on this Arsenal team. He has experience, he’s impressive. I’m not surprised that Arteta is delighted with this,” Bailey said.
“This could be the signing that wins them the title.”
“I don’t think it has affected their long-term transfer ambitions. I’ve been told by someone and they said that they wouldn’t be surprised if Jorginho lifts the title and then still moves back to Italy in the summer.”
Makes sense
The Gunners are in the midst of a revolution and are looking to build a team for the future.
With this in mind, it wouldn’t be a shock if Arsenal were to move on from Jorginho at the end of the season and look to sign some younger options with the likes of Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo linked.
Yes, Jorginho is a good player to have in your squad, but Arteta wants a team that can grow together and become one of the best in the world.
While Jorginho is undoubtedly a talented player, it is important for Arsenal to consider their future plans. If they do decide to part ways with Jorginho, it would potentially allow for signings in the summer that fit the long-term strategy at the Emirates.
