Speaking to OTB Football, Everton captain Seamus Coleman has spoken about a potential new deal at Goodison Park.
The Irishman has just entered the final year of his contract, and as you can imagine, he wants to secure his future at Everton.
The club have begun talks with Coleman, and barring any hiccups, it sounds as though he’s ready to sign new terms.
What’s been said?
Coleman confirmed that he’s been in talks with Everton about a new deal after being asked.
“I’ve been talking yeah. I’ve been talking with the club over the last little while. I’m in no panic and I’m not knocking down any doors to sign any deal, and I mean that in the best possible way. With respect to Everton I come in and I’m really happy there and I work hard in the same way I did as a 20-year-old. I want to get every last ounce of energy that I have left in me and play as long as I possibly can, and we’ll see what that brings,” Coleman said.

Great news
Everton are a rather unstable club at the moment having just changed managers once again, so they need to keep the calming influence of Coleman.
Coleman has been a great servant for the Toffees and he certainly deserves this new contract.
The right-back is a great leader at Goodison Park, with Carlo Ancelotti even going as far as to compare his leadership to Paolo Maldini’s.
Hopefully, it won’t be long until we get confirmation of a contract extension for the defender.
