Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been speaking about Paulo Dybala and recent reports linking him to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine will be leaving Juventus on a free transfer this summer, and understandably, the London club have been linked.

Spurs wanted Dybala way back in 2019, and now, with Fabio Paratici at the helm, the Juve star is once again being linked with a move to north London.

However, according to Gold, he’s heard that Paratici isn’t actually that desperate to sign Dybala, stating that it may come down to whether or not Antonio Conte really wants the attacker.

What’s been said?

Gold spoke about Dybala.

“He’s a class player, but I wonder with the amount of money it would cost. I see some reports saying that Paratici is a huge fan and wants him desperately, but from what I’ve been hearing, I don’t know if he is that desperate to sign him. I think it may come down to the fact of whether or not Conte really wants him. I think Champions League football will play a big role as well. Keep an eye on that one,” Gold said.

Don’t need him

It makes sense to hear that Paratici isn’t overly fussed on Dybala, after all, Spurs don’t really need him?

Dybala is an interesting player positionally, he can play as either a number nine or a number 10, and there’s no real room in the Spurs team for him at the moment. He won’t play ahead of Harry Kane, while Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski have been brilliant as of late.

Dybala would be a luxury signing, and Spurs aren’t in the position to bring a player like that in at the moment.
