George Graham has revealed that he’s been hearing some very good things about Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

The Gunners might make up for a poor domestic campaign with a solid European one this season.

Arsenal, who are 10th in the Premier League table, have one foot in the quarter-final of the Europa League after last night’s 3-1 win over Olympiacos.

Winning this competition would secure their entry into the Champions League next season.

Arteta has done well to turn around the North Londoners’ fortunes because it was only December when the Spaniard’s side were 15th in the table and the subject of relegation jokes.

The former Manchester City coach led Arsenal to FA Cup glory in his first half-a-season in senior management and despite an underwhelming full term in the Premier League, he remains a very exciting young figure in the world of management and one who the players are loving at the training ground, according to the club’s former boss.

He told talkSPORT: “Even though the players he has got could be improved. I’ve been hearing he does very well on the training ground; the players really rate him highly.

“I think it is just a matter of eliminating those big mistakes during those matches. Just recently, I’ve seen them play in certain areas of the game and they are outstanding.”
