Ivan Cavaleiro would add much needed pace to Newcastle United’s attack

Newcastle United are said to be keen to snap up Ivan Cavaleiro in the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are interested in signing Ivan Cavaleiro from Wolverhampton Wanderers in January, and the winger would finally add some much needed pace to Rafael Benitez’s front line, if he did join.

Newcastle are looking to become a bigger threat for the second half of the campaign.

And if Newcastle did bring in the rapid 25-year-old he would finally bring some speed to the Magpies’ attack.

Newcastle have lined up with Salomon Rondon up top this season, with Matt Ritchie and Kenedy generally playing on either flank.

Benitez has turned to Christian Atsu to provide pace to Newcastle’s attack in recent weeks, but there are question marks over his end product.

And Cavaleiro would surely be an upgrade on the former Chelsea man if he was to join.

It is still questionable whether Newcastle will have the funds to bring in Cavaleiro, but if they can he could be an excellent addition for the second half of the season.
