Pat Nevin has stated that Liverpool forward Mo Salah kicks the ball in a unique way that ‘other players don’t’, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
The former Chelsea winger added that it’s ‘weird’ the manner in which Salah connect with the ball, as he stated that his goal against AC Milan was ‘beautiful’.
Liverpool beat the Serie A giants 2-1 at the San Siro on Tuesday, with Salah equalising on the night and Divock Origi netting the winner to ensure his side made it six wins from six in the group stages of the Champions League.
It has been a quite remarkable season for Liverpool man’s on the right and there are no signs he’s stopping.
To be the top scorer in the Premier League and the top assist-maker this season is some feat for a player that is bang in the prime of his career.
Many have asked whether Salah is the best player in the world right now and his constant performances are just proving that is the case.
Nonetheless, after his well-taken goal at the San Siro on Tuesday, Nevin spoke about the Egyptian’s technique.
“So, what percentage of players lash that over the bar,” asked Nevin. “It sounds simple, but the ball is coming at him at a bit of pace, even in slow motion, it looks at pace.
“He has to take it on the upward volley. I promise you, 90% of players put that over the bar.
“He kicks the ball sometimes a way that other players don’t kick it. It’s really weird. And it’s not just because he’s a lefty.
“Sometimes, when he comes in from the right-hand side, and there’s no backlift, he thinks of taking shots on that others don’t. I said most players would have put that over the bar, in actual fact, most players would have taken a touch, then shot – it’s beautiful.”

Some would have been surprised at Jurgen Klopp opting to start both Salah and Sadio Mane in Italy, given that they had already qualified for the knockout stages.
Klopp has had a tendency to moan about fixture pile-up and this was a great chance for him to rest some of his key players.
But, at the end of the day, it’s Klopp who is in the Liverpool hotseat and he gets paid the big bucks to make those big calls.
And come the weekend, he will lock horns with a familiar face when the Reds take on Aston Villa, who are managed by Steven Gerrard.
