Some Liverpool fans are reacting on Twitter to a report from The Echo about Joe Gomez.
The Reds are in Austria for a pre-season training camp and three defenders who missed most of last season – Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Gomez – are all present.
But according to The Echo, Gomez, who hasn’t kicked a ball for Liverpool since October due to a knee injury, sat out Friday’s session.
Given the player’s injury history and the fact we’re only a few weeks away from the start of the Premier League season, it’s a bit of a concern – especially considering there’s not been much concrete information about it.

Liverpool endured a rotten defence of their Premier League title last season but it was only because the likes of Van Dijk and Gomez were out for virtually the entire campaign.
But if Jurgen Klopp wants to mount a serious challenge of Manchester City next time around, it’s vital that the likes of Van Dijk and Gomez are available.
Yes, Klopp has already signed Ibrahima Konate in a £36 million deal, but those two have been the German’s first-choice pairing in central defence and that’s the partnership he’d like to start the season with.
