Leeds United picked up arguably their best result of the Premier League season this afternoon.
Marcelo Bielsa’s had a very difficult trip away to title-chasing Leicester City, but the visitors returned to West Yorkshire with a brilliant three points following a 3-1 win.
Stuart Dallas cancelled out Harvey Barnes’s opener just before the half-time break with what was a brilliant team goal.
Here’s how Karen Carney reacted to Dallas’s strike, telling BBC Radio 5 Live: “If you thought the Leicester goal was good, the Leeds goal is even better! Maddison gives it away, and with the first touch it was glided into the bottom corner. It’s typical Leeds, the two passes from Ayling and Bamford split the defence and what a great response!”
United completed the comeback midway through the second half when Patrick Bamford fired Bielsa’s troops 2-1 ahead, blasting into the top corner with his weaker left foot from a difficult angle.
It was a sublime finish by the 27-year-old Leeds hitman and Carney added that his movement had been ‘brilliant’ all afternoon.
She added: “That’s a brilliant finish, he doesn’t take a first touch, then it’s the left foot into the top corner, and Schmeichel has no chance. His movement has been brilliant, no-one picks him up.”
Leeds are still 12th in the Premier League table but they’re only two points behind 10th-placed Arsenal with a game in hand.
Days like this are a big reminder that United are a match for any team in the division on their day and if they can cut out the silly home defeats, there’s no reason why they can’t mark their first season back in the top flight by finishing in the top half.
