Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has said that he has decided to join Paris Saint-Germain, as quoted in Football Italia, and this will come as a blow for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.

TuttoJuve reported this month that Tottenham want to sign Skriniar.

Earlier in January, InterLive claimed that Liverpool are keen on the defender.

Skriniar is out of contract at former Serie A and UEFA Champions League winners Inter at the end of the season and will become a free agent in the summer of 2023.

There has been speculation in recent days that the 27-year-old Slovakia international central defender has already signed a pre-contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported over the weekend that defending Ligue 1 champions PSG are trying to agree a deal with Inter over signing the defender now.

Skriniar has said that reports that he has decided to join PSG in the summer of 2023 are true, adding that the French club and Inter are now in talks over a transfer this month.

Football Italia quotes the defender as saying: “Yes, it’s true, but I cannot give any more details right now. I am waiting for the two clubs to reach an agreement.”

Milan Skriniar comments blow for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur

In our view, Milan Skriniar deciding to join Paris Saint-Germain is a blow for Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Liverpool could do with someone as good as the Slovakian to partner Virgil van Dijk at the back.

Tottenham need players like the Inter defender to reach elite level.

However, we do understand why the 27-year-old would want to join PSG.

After all, PSG regularly win Ligue 1 and compete for the UEFA Champions League.

And they are a wealthy club who can pay a lot in salary.
