Dean Jones has confirmed that Arsenal are certainly looking at Lovro Majer.
Earlier this week it was reported by The Mirror – as covered by HITC Sport – that the Gunners had been scouting the 24-year-old Croatia international.
And the reliable journalist has confirmed to Give Me Sport that the Rennes attacker – valued at £54 million – is definitely on Arsenal’s radar.
He said: “This is a market they watch closely, and it is true that they’ve had him scouted. When you look at his style of play, he’s got a great weight of pass, he loves demanding the ball, he can see passes that very few other players can.”

Will Arsenal sign him?
Well, probably not.
Talented as Majer is, and he definitely is a major talent by virtue of the comparisons with Luka Modric, he isn’t someone that the North Londoners actually need.
This is an attacking midfielder by trade and Mikel Arteta already has Martin Odegaard and Fabio Vieira to fulfill this role if he needs to.
Hell, even Emile Smith Rowe has been known to play as a number 10 on occasion and therefore the speculation regarding Majer has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
If Arsenal sign anyone in January, it’s going to be a wide player because that’s the position they tried, and failed, to strengthen during the summer transfer window.
