Craig Levein has controversially told the Scottish Football Podcast that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard and his rival from Rangers, Alfredo Morelos, are both ‘moody’ and ‘huffy’.
The former Hearts manager may feel the wrath of the Old Firm duo for his comments, as he also labelled Edouard as a ‘mystery’ but still thinks the out-of-form star is the best striker in the league.
Rangers have raced into an 11-point lead this season – Celtic have two games in hand – with both their frontmen enduring difficult times.
Levein shared his take on the highly-rated duo and stated ‘it’s true’ about what he is saying.
“Edouard is a mystery, to me. He really is. I would say that he is arguably the best striker in the league. He is already proven that he is a top striker. I think maybe he’s going through a lack of confidence.”
As the talk about Celtic’s situation continued on during the show, Levein then added:
“What’s interesting for me is that you have two very similar scenarios of strikers at both clubs. Edouard is moody and huffy and so is Morelos. It’s true, isn’t it?!
“I might be wrong and I might be doing these players a disservice. But it certainly looks that way on the outside.”

In recent seasons, both have ripped it up in the Premiership and there have been numerous debates about who is the best in the league between the two.
But after a summer of intense speculation surrounding the two, it’s pretty clear that has affected them and their performances.
Rangers won’t be too fused because they are showing a different side to their game by scoring for fun with their star man off-colour, whilst the Bhoys will be hoping Edouard’s goal at the weekend will provide him with some much-needed confidence.
