Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has told BT Sport, during their live Europa League coverage, that he is finding it tough this season.
Winks has gone from being a first-team regular at Spurs, to featuring as nothing more than a reserve player.
Winks has not even been in three of Tottenham’s last four match day squads in the Premier League.
And the 24-year-old admits that he is finding it difficult to adjust to being a substitute.
“It is tough. It is very difficult. All I can do is when I get opportunities like this is play well,” Winks said, after starting in the Europa League last night.
Winks did indeed catch the eye as Spurs picked up a 4-0 win yesterday against Ludogorets.
However, he will have to impress against higher level opponents than last night’s if he is to really force his way back into Mourinho’s team.

Winks has actually been linked with a move away from Tottenham in January by the Telegraph, with real worries forming around his lack of game time.
Tottenham are next in action against Chelsea, and it will be interesting to see whether Winks did enough last night to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s side squad for that fixture.
