Eredivisie star Zian Flemming fears Fortuna Sittard will price him out of a potential switch to Championship giants Nottingham Forest, speaking to ESPN.
When Flemming’s in full flow, it doesn’t take long to realise where he’s honed his footballing talents.
There’s something unmistakably Ajax about the talented attacking midfielder – those brilliant little touches, piercing through balls and breathtaking finishes fired home with style and precision from the edge of the box.
Not everyone can graduate with flying colours from the Johan Cruyff finishing school, however, and Flemming was forced to continue his education elsewhere after failing to force his way into Ajax’s first team.
Since joining Fortuna Sittard in 2020, however, the Amsterdam-born 22-year-old has done his level best to show the biggest club in the country what they’re missing.
Flemming was a revelation last season, a tally of 15 goals and seven assists from the middle of the park making him one of the league’s surprise stars.
Could Nottingham Forest be priced out of Zian Flemming move?
Understandably, Fortuna are desperate to retain the services of their star man, having rejected an opening bid from Nottingham Forest earlier this month, according to Voetbal International.
“They are asking for a very big transfer fee so far, a bit out of proportion,” explains Flemming.

Are we detecting the slightest pang of frustration as Fortuna look to stand in the way of what would be a massive opportunity in England?
“How high (is their asking price)? Of course, I can’t answer that – but it’s too much anyway,” Flemming adds.
It is understood Nottingham Forest have offered about £800,000 for Flemming, with Fortuna demanding closer to £2 million for a man whose skill, vision and eye for the spectacular would add some much-needed cutting edge to Chris Hughton’s goal-shy squad.
