Leeds United attacking midfielder Adryan’s performance against Nottingham Forest in the Championship on Saturday left much to be desired.
Adryan may be talented and a ‘wonderkid’, but the Leeds United attacking midfielder needs to step up.
The Championship game against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday proved that.
There have been matches in which the 20-year-old Brazilian, currently on a season-long loan deal from Flamengo, has been brilliant, but he has had more disappointing games than great ones.
The youngster’s performance against Forest summed it up. There were flashes of brilliance and intent to create something out of nothing, but Adryan failed to pull off the tricks on more than one occasion.
| Chances Created | Total Cross | Accurate Cross | Touches | Total Pass | Accurate Pass | Total Dribbles | Dribbles Won | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adryan | 0 | 3 | 0 | 38 | 20 | 17 | 4 | 2 | 66 |
As the stats above show, Adryan’s performance in the 1-1 draw was mixed. A pass accuracy of 85% and winning two tackles out of four attempted are encouraging, but no accurate crosses, just 38 touches of the ball and no chances created are far from ideal.
Leeds were playing a superior team in Forest away from home, and Adryan needed to step up. He failed, and not for the first time this season either.
Since the start of the campaign, Leeds fans have been told time and time how ‘great’ Adryan is and how much creativity he has, but just 12 chances created in 10 Championship appearances leave much to be desired.
