‘It’s time’: BBC pundit wants Mohamed Salah to rebuke 26-year-old Liverpool teammate

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool won against Sean Dyche’s Everton at Anfield in the Merseyside derby this past weekend.

It was a controversial game in which Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah scored both goals.

Liverpool won the Premier League match against Everton 2-0.

Everton full-back Ashley Young was sent off in the first half.

Ibrahima Konate was lucky to escape a second yellow card for Liverpool midway through the second half.

Salah scored the first goal from the penalty spot in the 75th minute and added a second deep into injury time.

The penalty decision itself was controversial.

Salah did not have the best of matches on a personal level, but the Egyptian forward still ended up being the main difference-maker.

Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks was impressed with Salah.

Crooks has included Salah in his Premier League Team of the Week.

However, the BBC Sport pundit was not impressed by Luis Diaz’s antics after Young had fouled him.

The pundit wants Salah to have a word with the 26-year-old Colombia international winger and ask him to stop him from rolling on the ground a lot.

Crooks told BBC Sport: “Referee Craig Pawson’s inability to show some discretion in the Merseyside derby exposed him once he failed to exercise any consistency. 

“Neither was it helped by Luiz Diaz who rolled over at least five times for dramatic effect after Young had fouled him.

“Meanwhile Mo Salah is back to his brilliant, unselfish and supportive best and has erased the sort of antics now effecting Luiz Diaz.

“It’s time Salah had a word with Diaz.”

Liverpool are Premier League title contenders

I believe that Liverpool are genuine challengers for the Premier League title this season.

The Merseyside derby did not have the best of times last season, but they are now getting back to their best.

Liverpool are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 20 points from nine matches.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are three points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City remain the team to beat in the Premier League title race this season, but I believe that Liverpool will push them hard and give them a run for their money.
