Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Patson Daka will leave Red Bull Salzburg after a stunning season at the Austria Bundesliga giants, his agent Frederic Kanoute has told Sky.

After the departures of Erling Haaland, Takumi Minamino, Dominik Szoboszlai and Hwang Hee-chan, one of Europe’s most feted finishing schools is about to say goodybe to another student.

Zambia international Daka has brilliantly filled a Haaland-shaped void in Jesse Marsch’s free-scoring front line.

And, after scoring 30 goals in 33 matches this season, he will soon be following in the footsteps of the Borussia Dortmund talisman with a mega-money switch to one of the continent’s big hitters.

In March, Salzburger Nachrichten reported Premier League giants Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are all interested.

Pep Guardiola’s league leaders have been linked heavily with Haaland as Sergio Aguero’s record-shattering spell at the Etihad comes to an end.

But could City replace Aguero with Haaland’s own replacement?

“I think it’s time for a new challenge at the end of the season,” Kanoute said when asked about Daka’s future.

“He really got going this season. He is developing almost daily.”

Before Christmas, Football London reported Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur are also big admirers of the £25 million-rated Daka. And if Spurs are still interested, the Kanoute connection could pay dividends.

Daka’s agent, after all, is a former Tottenham striker.
