Speaking on Tottenham Hotspur’s YouTube channel, Fabio Paratici has been discussing the atmosphere around Spurs.

Paratici joined the London club in a rather tumultuous time. Harry Kane wanted to leave, they had no manager and a rebuild was needed.

Unfortunately, the summer didn’t quite go to plan for Spurs and Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign was cut short.

Antonio Conte came in, but even he couldn’t halt the slide initially, and there was a lot of pessimism at Spurs, with many tipping Conte to leave the club almost as soon as he’d started.

However, Paratici now says that everything has changed and there’s now a new wave of optimism around the club.

What’s been said?

Paratici spoke about how the view around Spurs has changed.

“If you think about two months ago, every one of us, and maybe the fans, people around, was pessimistic, so pessimistic, but at the moment it’s the opposite, everyone is so optimistic. We need to find the right balance, but that’s not easy in football because it is so emotional,” Paratici said.

Emotive

As Paratici says, football is a very emotive game, and Spurs are the perfect case study of that.

A couple of months ago, Spurs were seemingly on the verge of yet another crisis, but after two good signings on deadline day, things are looking up and a Champions League spot is once again in Tottenham’s sights.

Spurs need to ride the crest of this wave and keep up the good results as they attempt to chase Arsenal down.
