‘It’s the difference’: Liverpool fans make interesting claim as 31-second Thiago footage emerges

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to make an interesting claim about Thiago Alcântara, following a pass he made against Aston Villa.

A 31-second piece of footage from the 4-1 win shows the Spain international finding Xherdan Shaqiri in between the lines.

The former Stoke maestro then finds Mohamed Salah, who swivels and shoots to score Liverpool’s fourth goal.

Locating the Switzerland international was the harder pass, with Neco Williams providing a more simple option out wide.

However, this is the point Liverpool fans are making.

They claim that any other midfielder in Jurgen Klopp’s ranks would’ve played the easy pass out to the Wales international.

In our view, this shouldn’t be used as a stick to beat the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner with.

Klopp has, presumably, instructed his players to get the ball wide and cross it.

Just think of how many goals Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have assisted by doing so.

However, there’s no denying that Thiago is different in the way that he seems to always explore the more unorthodox pass before the simple option.
