Reported West Ham and Leeds United target Frederik Alves Ibsen might have played his last game for Silkeborg ahead of a potential January switch to the Premier League, as reported by the Midtjyllands Avis.
With just one game remaining before the Danish league is placed on pause for the winter, Alves Ibsen may be denied the chance to say goodbye, at least on the pitch, to the club responsible for turning him into one of Scandinavia’s most exciting talents.
The Denmark U21 international has not featured since November due to injury.
He could, therefore, be missing on the final matchday of 2020 with Silkeborg due to face Skive on Friday.
“It is certainly strange to think about,” Alves Ibsen said when asked if he has played his final game for the Superliga outfit.
Silkeborg director Kent Madsen told the Midtjyllands Avis recently the defender’s departure was merely a ‘formality’, with the club expected to bank a fee in the region of £2.5 million.
BT claim Alves Ibsen was in London a few weeks ago for talks with West Ham.

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds are also interested (the Mail) but the Hammers, who are expected to offer the towering centre-back a contract until 2024, appear to be in pole position.
At 21, Alves Ibsen will not fall foul of new Brexit legislation. But a man who enjoyed a brief spell in Brazilian football as a teenager will still need to obtain the requisite work permit before putting pen to paper with West Ham or Leeds.
