Tottenham Hotspur target Allan Saint-Maximin has posted on Instagram that he is ‘delighted to be doing what I love the most’ for Newcastle United.

The Newcastle winger urged his teammates to ‘keep going’ and how it’s ‘showtime’ after Eddie Howe’s side picked up an opening day win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

With weeks remaining before the 2022 summer window slams shut, it will be interesting to see if Spurs come knocking for Saint-Maximin’s talents.

It has been previously suggested that those in the St James’ Park boardroom expect Spurs and Chelsea to put in a bid for their player – the Frenchman has four years left on his current deal.

Therefore, the Magpies, who now have heavy pockets themselves thanks to their Saudi-led ownership, will demand serious money if they have to part ways with the £17 million 2019 signing (Sky Sports).

He started the weekend win over Forest and there is no indication from the player himself that he wants out, in actual fact, he’s pretty happy for this season, as he expressed on his IG.

WHERE WILL NEWCASTLE AND TOTTENHAM FINISH?

For both clubs and their supporters, it has probably been a long time since they have felt so positive about the season ahead and what they can produce.

Of course, Spurs, with Antonio Conte in the dugout, 2021/22 Golden Boot winner Son Heung-min leading the line alongside England captain, Harry Kane, then they are further ahead than those from St James’ Park.

But the north London club will think they can challenge for the Premier League title this season, as well as possibly winning a trophy.

Newcastle will also feel they can end their long-awaited trophy drought, but can they surprise all by getting into Europe?
