Real Madrid fans have had a mixed reaction to the latest news on Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale, after he was left out of the squad last night.

Jose Mourinho said that Bale asked not to play for Tottenham against Everton, after having ‘bad feelings’ after training [Sky].

The latest comments cast further doubt over whether Bale will ever return to the peak of his powers.

And while some Madrid fans feel that Bale is proving exactly why he couldn’t break into his team, others are fearful as they feel the Welshman may be set to return to them in the summer.

When Bale joined Tottenham at the start of the season it was widely expected that he would spend the next two years in North London.

However, the 31-year-old has been unable to make any sort of impact so far.

Bale has been a shadow of his former self, and it is becoming more and more difficult to see how he turn things around at Spurs.

Bale also has hardly put himself in the shop window, so if he does return to Madrid, it is difficult to find many potential suitors for him.
