Earlier today, a tearful Sergio Aguero announced his retirement from football, after making just five appearances for Barcelona.
The 33-year-old has been forced into the decision after suffering chest pains and dizziness during Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Alaves in October.
Following cardiac tests, Aguero has deemed it safest to retire.
Now, Celtic glovesman Joe Hart has paid tribute to the Argentine.
What’s the story?
Well, the 34-year-old Celtic shot-stopper sent a message to his former Manchester City teammate during a press conference earlier today.
The £1m man is quoted by Football Daily as saying: “The entire footballing world appreciates you for the player that you are. People have been lucky enough to know you from a personal point of view. You were a great teammate and a good friend.
“It’s sad, but also, I think it’s important you look at all the amazing things you’ve done.”

You can could the emotion in Hart’s voice, and he’s clearly upset by the decision Aguero has been forced to take for the good of his health.
Aguero and Hart shared a pitch 178 times, averaging 1.9 points per game as they won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and one FA Cup together at the Etihad Stadium.
Joe Hart should pay tribute to Sergio Aguero for Celtic tonight
In our view, it would be nice if Hart arranged for the Celtic squad to pay tribute to Aguero’s glittering career tonight against Ross County.
Whether that be in the form of warmup t-shirts or something else, it would be a tremendous gesture from the England international, and from Celtic as a club.

Hopefully, the emotion behind Aguero’s story inspires Hart to another level tonight, and he doesn’t let the situation distract him.
Having said that, he is an ultimate professional, who is more than capable of shutting things out when kick-off comes around.
Above all, it’s a very sad story, and we wish Aguero all the best for the future.
