Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has praised his teammate Kalvin Phillips in The Mirror.
Cooper has said that he loves his Leeds teammate Phillips, but the Scotland international defender has made it clear that against England, it will be all about rivalry on the pitch.
England and Scotland will face each other in Euro 2020 Group D next Friday.
While Phillips will line up for the Three Lions in midfield, Cooper will start for Scotland in defence.
Cooper told The Mirror: “Kalvin knows what I think of him. He’s a great lad and I love him to pieces. I’ve seen his career go from being a young kid to an established player in the England team.
“It’s pure business now. All that goes out the window once you’re on the pitch. Kalvin is the same – he wears his heart on his sleeve, same as I do.”

Fascinating
Cooper has been superb for Leeds over the years.
The 29-year-old joined the Whites back in 2014 and has played a big role in the team’s success over the years.
The Scotland international played a big role in Leeds getting promoted from the Championship and then doing well in the Premier League this past season.
Phillips has taken his game to another level under Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
The midfielder is now a key figure for England, and it will be fascinating to see how he does against Cooper and Scotland.
Both England and Scotland will be hopeful and confident of going through to the next stage of the Euro 2020 from the group.
