According to Dean Jones, speaking to GiveMeSport, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a move for Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez.
This is a rumour that is bound to raise a few eyebrows.
Indeed, Martinez isn’t the most popular figure on that side of north London having spent almost a decade with Arsenal.
The Argentine has strong affiliations with Tottenham’s nearest rivals, so this may prove to be a bit of a controversial transfer.
However, despite his Arsenal links, Martinez has been complimentary about Spurs in the past, most notably praising their stadium.
The goalkeeper actually named Spurs’ new ground as his favoruite stadium in the world, stating that every game played there feels like a cup final.

Martinez loves Spurs’ stadium
The Aston Villa goalkeeper named Spurs’ ground as his favourite to visit.
“I have got to say Spurs away,” Martinez said on Ben Foster’s YouTube channel.
“More than a stadium. It looks like you are playing NFL.
“You go away there and it’s massive dressing rooms. It’s like you are playing in a final. It’s proper.”
Pull
Tottenham Hotspur may not have all that much sway in the transfer market when it comes to prestige – after all, they’ve not won a trophy in 15 years, but they can lure players in with their world-class facilities.
Spurs’ stadium is genuinely one of the best sporting venues on the planet, and any player would love to go out and play in such a venue on a weekly basis.
Factor in that Hotspur Way is also one of the most advanced training facilities in world football, and you have a club and an infrastructure that would appeal to any player.
Spurs may not be the most successful team in recent history, but the pull of their facilities does have a lot of weight in the transfer market.
