Kyle Walker has told Everton defender Conor Coady that he is like Tottenham striker Harry Kane in England training, as he told LADbible TV.

The Manchester City right-back added that Coady is ‘proper’ in England training, whilst Raheem Sterling added that he is ‘top’ when preparing for matches.

Gareth Southgate’s side are now out in Doha, after touching down on Tuesday night, ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Even though Coady himself has had a strong start to life at Everton, after his loan move from Wolves, he isn’t expected to start England’s opener against Iran next Monday.

But whilst fans might not see much of the 29-year-old out on the pitch, what he is doing behind-the-scenes for his country is impressing his teammates.

“I would say you are a top trainer,” Sterling told Coady. Walker then added: “You are a bit like, Harry (Kane).”

Coady laughed and responded: “You are saying in terms of my finishing?”

Walker added: “It’s just like, it’s proper. By the book, everything is done properly and there are no corners cut.”

BACK THREE OR BACK FOUR?

During England’s previous international fixtures, things went very wrong for Gareth Southgate’s side, both in terms of results and performances, as they were relegated from the UEFA Nations League.

Southgate opted to play a back three, a formation he used at Euro 2020 and at the previous World Cup.

With no standout performers at centre-back, it does make life difficult in regards to who will start against Iran next Monday.

But, more than likely, both Harry Maguire and John Stones will be picked, it’s just a case of whether it will be in a back three or a flat back four.
