Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marcelo Bielsa has stated that Diego Llorente isn’t likely to appear against Everton.

The Spaniard has been suffering with an injury for a little while now after limping off against Real Betis in a friendly back in July.

This meant he missed the season opener against Manchester United, and sadly he won’t be involved against Everton either.

Luckily though, Bielsa says that he’s got a chance of being involved next week.

What’s been said?

Bielsa gave an update on Llorente.

“It’s probable he will have chances to compete again next week,” Bielsa said.

Luckily there was better news about Kalvin Phillips as the Argentine stated he’s closer to being involved”

“Another week of work means physically he’s better and closer.”

Needed back ASAP

Llorente needs to get back fit as soon as possible.

We hate to be critical, but defensively, Leeds were a mess against Manchester United, and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin coming to Elland Road on Saturday, there could be trouble afoot.

Llorente proved towards the back end of last season that he’s one of the Whites’ best defenders, and they need him back in the team sooner rather than later.

Fingers crossed Bielsa is right and the Spain international is back involved next week.
