Tim Sherwood has this warning for Tottenham Hotspur after Chelsea victory.

Tottenham Hotspur have opened up the title race with their 2-0 win over Chelsea but former boss Tim Sherwood has issued a warning to the club’s players.

After the game Dele Alli said that Tottenham were enjoying going under the radar as title challengers, quoted by the Evening Standard. He said: “We’re happy so stay under the radar – we won’t get our feet too far off the floor.”

Sherwood, speaking to the Premier League’s official website, had a succinct piece of advice for Alli and his Tottenham teammates.

The former Spurs boss says that the win over Chelsea changes everything for Tottenham, and they must adjust.

He said: “Unfortunately chaps, you are not under the radar any more. It’s over.

“Everybody expects you to win the league now.”

Tottenham are up into third place at present, moving to within seven points of Chelsea, who had won their previous 13 league matches heading into the contest.

Tottenham need to follow up this victory over Chelsea more successfully than they did their win over Manchester City earlier in the season, which saw them lauded as potential title winners.

They had a run of six weeks without a victory and fell off the pace, but their recent form suggests they are not about to fall off similarly.

Dele Alli has hit his stride, having struggled early on in the season, while Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane are finding their groove.

Since their narrow loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford in early December, Spurs are on a winning run of their own, and are as credible contenders as any to topple Chelsea from top spot.
