Brazil are out of the World Cup.
Despite being tipped up as the pre-tournament favourites by many, the South Americans exited at the quarter-final stage for the third time in the last four tournaments, and this defeat to Croatia has signalled the end of an era for the Selecao.
Indeed, after the match, Tite admitted that he will be leaving his post as the manager of the national team.
“The cycle, it’s over, as I said earlier, I already said it more than a year and a half ago. It was a process. The previous Cup (2018) was a team formation recovery process and now it has had an entire sequence. The performance you do the evaluation, it is on display,” Tite said.
Interestingly, just eight months ago, Arsenal were being linked with Tite as Mikel Arteta faltered in his role as the Gunners’ manager.

How the tables have turned.
Indeed, now Tite is out of work after failing to make any sort of inroads at the World Cup with a very talented Brazil team, while Arteta is flying high at the top of the league and exceeding all expectations with Arsenal.
Now, we’re not saying that Tite is a bad manager, he may even have a future in the Premier League if any team wants to take a gamble on him, but it’s fair to say that Arsenal made the right call when sticking with Arteta rather than approaching Tite amid links earlier this year.
What comes next for Tite remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, he won’t be replacing Mikel Arteta anytime soon as Arsenal continue their march towards the Premier League title.
