Ian McGarry has said on the Transfer Window podcast that Edu is completely behind Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and is backing him to turn things around at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta has come under fire in recent weeks, with Arsenal badly struggling in the Premier League.
However, McGarry claims that they have heard that Edu is doing all he keen to provide Arteta with the tools to make his time at Arsenal a success.
The Brazilian is currently drawing up a list of transfer targets for January, with a right-sided central defender and a creative midfielder on Arsenal’s wishlist.
News that the Gunners want a playmaker does not come as a surprise, as they have struggled so badly in front of goal this term.
But Edu also apparently has his eyes on a central defender, as he looks to bolster Arsenal’s squad.

“It’s our information that Edu is backing Arteta to the hilt during meetings with club administers,” McGarry said.
“He has said firmly that he believes Arteta is still the right man for the club.
“Indeed, Edu has been looking at recruitment in January in the form of a right-sided centre-back and a creative midfielder.”
Edu’s January planning is likely to be music to Arteta’s ears, as he has suggested he still needs another five new players to really get the best out of his team at Arsenal.
It now just remains to be seen whether Arsenal’s budget will allow them to make the signings that they need in the new year, as they look to climb up the table.
