West Ham United’s Jesse Lingard has been talked up by Ravel Morrison, after he made it back into the England squad yesterday.
Lingard has made a brilliant start to life since moving to West Ham in January, with the attacking midfielder quickly re-discovering his top form.
With England not being able to pick the likes of Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho, Lingard has found a route back into the squad.
And Morrison claimed that Gareth Southgate’s decision on the West Ham was correct.
He wrote in the comments: “It’s only right. Truly deserved. Top Baller!”
Rio Ferdinand, Diogo Dalot and Ian Wright were among the other notable people to congratulate Lingard on social media yesterday.
The 28-year-old has four goals in six West Ham appearances in the Premier League to date, and has injected further quality into David Moyes’s side.
This is the first England squad Lingard has made since 2019.
The Manchester United’s loanee’s immediate attention will still be on the weekend though, when West Ham face Arsenal in an important game for their top four chances.
