Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after AS revealed that Isco has asked to leave Real Madrid in January, and the Spanish champions have accepted his request.

The news comes after Sport revealed that Carlo Ancelotti has asked Everton to bring the Spain international to Goodison Park.

AS state that Isco and Zinedine Zidane share a complicated relationship, and the former Valencia man is unhappy with his lack of game-time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Isco only made 15 starts in La Liga last season, scoring just one goal while also recording two assists, which is disappointing for a player of his talent.

So far this season, the 28-year-old has made three La Liga starts, and has failed to register a single goal involvement.

While he is most certainly out of form, Ancelotti chose to spend £23 million to secure his services from Malaga in 2013, and still seems fond of the player.

Speaking about the Toffees’ alleged interest, Ancelotti described Isco as a ‘fantastic player’ but dismissed talk of a move for him, in quotes supplied by the Liverpool Echo.

‘Isco is a fantastic player and [I have] a fantastic memory of him but now I am not, honestly, focused there. I am focused on an important week, we are going to have to recover players and to be well prepared for the game against United.’

However, as with most managers, the Italian is hardly likely to shout his interest in a potential target from the rooftops.

Let’s see how the Everton fans on Twitter reacted to the news from AS
