Nottingham Forest need to find a way of being more clinical in front of goal.

If there is one area that Dougie Freedman needs to work on at Nottingham Forest over the international break, it is his side’s finishing.

The Reds have fired in more shots than any other team in the Championship so far, yet only Preston North End have scored fewer goals.

Forest have scored just nine times in their opening 10 matches of the season, but their strikers cannot complain about a lack of service.

The Reds have peppered the opposition’s goal with 175 shots, but they have lacked the ruthless streak required to put their chances away.

Forest’s lack of cutting edge has already cost them this season but if Freedman can find a way to rectify this problem, then they could mount a promotion push.

At the moment Freedman’s side are sat in 14th place in the Championship table, but they are only six points adrift of the play-off spots.

Forest return to action after the international break with a match against struggling Bristol City – who currently prop up the second tier standings.
