Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers have a decision to make on Connor Ronan with Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin addressing transfer links with the St Mirren loanee, speaking to the Daily Record.
Earlier this month, Bruno Jordao indicated that, following discussions with Bruno Lage, a first-team berth could be up for grabs when 2022/23 kicks off.
When Ronan will also be offered the chance to make a name for himself at Molineux remains to be seen.
It is five years now since the talented playmaker burst onto the scene, then-Wolves boss Paul Lambert describing his debut performance in a 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday ‘as good as I’ve seen from a young player’.
Molineux is a completely different place these days. Home to Portugal playmakers, a £30 million centre-forward and a whole host of established internationals.
And Ronan certainly faces an uphill battle if he wants to force his way into Lage’s first-team plans, even if he has made quite the impression during a stellar spell on loan at St Mirren north of the border.
Does Connor Ronan have a future at Wolves?
It was Goodwin who brought Ronan to Paisley last summer. And, according to the Daily Record, the Republic of Ireland U21 star could soon be reunited with his former St Mirren boss at Aberdeen.

“It is obvious the likes of Jack Alnwick and Connor Ronan would flash up. I have worked closely with them at my previous club,” explains Goodwin, who recently replaced Stephen Glass at Pittodrie.
“I brought both of them to St Mirren. Connor Ronan scored eight goals from midfield and scored another special one against Hearts the other week.
“These (Ronan and Alnwick) are players who I have very good working relationships with. I am in no doubt they could make the step up from St Mirren to Aberdeen but it is just speculation at the moment.”
Ronan, who is under contract until 2024, has five assists to go with his eight goals at St Mirren.
