Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Emerson Royal has named Sadio Mane as his toughest opponent to date.

Royal has had a tough debut season in the top-flight, and many wingers have caused the Brazilian huge problems down the right side.

However, according to Royal, Sadio Mane is the toughest player he’s come up against so far, stating that the Senegalese star’s combination of pace, strength and speed make him a nightmare to play against.

Emerson discussed Mane.

“Who has been your toughest opponent in the Premier League so far?

“Mane, he’s so fast, so strong, so strong and skilful, it’s not often you get a player like that, with so much strength, speed and skill,” Emerson said.

Not done badly

To say that Emerson believes Mane is his toughest opponent to date, he’s not done too badly against him.

Indeed, Mane hasn’t actually scored a single goal against Tottenham this season, and that’s not something many Premier League teams can say.

Mane has been excellent in front of goal this term, but somehow, Tottenham have managed to keep him at bay in both fixtures this term.

Of course, Emerson did have a tough time against Mane, hence why he’s named him as his toughest opponent, but it’s fair to say that things could have been a whole lot worse for the Brazilian.
