Tottenham Hotspur are still yet to sign a player this summer.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media last night, and delivered his verdict on the early closure of the transfer window this summer, suggesting that a club like Spurs will be adversely affected by it, as quoted by the London Evening Standard.

Tottenham fans are beginning to become slightly disgruntled, what with their Premier League rivals spending left right and centre, whilst Daniel Levy continues to flounder in the market.

The Lilywhites have earned rave reviews over the past couple of seasons, but many fans and pundits alike are now expecting them to take the next step up, and mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title.

In order to do just that, though, Pochettino will undoubtedly have to strengthen his ranks at White Hart Lane before the transfer window slams shut on August 9th.

The Argentine spoke to reporters last night, and highlighted how this year’s early closure of the transfer window is not good news for Tottenham, as quoted by the London Evening Standard:

“The deadline day is so early compared to the rest of Europe, which is not going to help a team like us, but that is what has been decided. That is why we must make the best decision for us. I am not panicking. I don’t panic in football. I panic for different reasons in in life, but not football.”

With just 12 days remaining until the transfer window slams shut, Spurs had better get their business in order sooner rather than later, but quite who Pochettino will bring into the club remains to be seen.
