Sunderland are currently in 18th place in the Premier League table.

Sunderland boss David Moyes has told the Chronicle that he is on the look out for new additions at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland are not expected to have much money to spend in Janaury, despite the Wearsiders appearing to desperately need additions.

Moyes’ side are currently in 18th place in the Premier League table, and battling for their lives.

The Scottish boss has made no secret that he would like more quality to work with, but he has a limited budget to find players with.

And Moyes admits that attracting players, when his side are embroiled in a relegation fight, is proving difficult.

“We are looking for players,” he said.

“By looking, I don’t mean that we’re in there spending millions and millions. But are we looking at players and thinking about a few things? Yes we are. Although, in our position, it’s not always that easy to attract players to the club.”

Sunderland are likely to have to sell to raise funds for any signings that they wish to make.

The Black Cats are trying to offload a range of fringe players, to enable Moyes to have the spending power required to bring in his top choice targets.

Sunderland are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Stoke City at the weekend.
