Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton has defended Tottenham Hotspur and Ange Postecoglou after they were criticised by Roy Keane.
Keane thought Tottenham‘s approach to their 2-0 win against his old side Manchester United last Saturday was arrogant, something that Sutton was not having.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the former Blackburn Rovers forward said: “I’ll tell you what I thought was also interesting, Roy Keane’s comment at half-time when he called the way Tottenham played, or Postecoglou’s coaching, as arrogant. It’s not arrogant. It’s just what he believes in.”
Postecoglou can be pleased with the start he has made as Tottenham boss.
After that win against United, Spurs have now taken four points from their first two Premier League outings this season, drawing 2-2 with Brentford the match prior.
Ange Postecoglou’s football is working
While it is early days, Postecoglou’s style is doing the trick at Tottenham. That is probably the only thing Spurs supporters will care about right now, not whether his approach to games is arrogant or not.
Ultimately, it has been a promising start to the Premier League campaign for the north London club, who are yet to replace Harry Kane.
Do that, bring in another top forward, and perhaps Postecoglou’s men will be able to qualify for the Champions League.

Richarlison has been leading the line for Tottenham since Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich, but the Brazilian has not been able to find the back of the net yet.
Last term, he only managed to score one goal in the Premier League, so up front definitely looks like an area of Postecoglou’s squad that can be improved.
If not, then Tottenham are going to need to have a lot more days like the recent one where they defeated United, one where everything just goes to plan, in order to finish in the top four.
